Funding for Medical Transport Providers

Acknowledging the vital life-saving contribution medical transport companies provide to communities, Traffic Accident Assistance Program (TAAP) has expanded its funding availability to include air and ground medical transport services.   TAAP is a national program geared specifically to fund uninsured trauma stay and trauma physicians.  Through Medical Transport Compensation (MTC), a program funded by ETF, applications are now being accepted from EMS companies.

Recognizing the significant losses that medical transports companies incur from uncompensated services provided to the community on a daily basis, MTC will process and review claims up to three years from the date of service.  Best efforts must have been made to collect from any and all sources before claims are submitted to MTC.

The fund will reimburse the following services:

  • Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Advanced Life Support (ALS) Level 1
  • Advanced Life Support (ALS) Level 2
  • ICD-10 codes within V00 – V99

Upon claim approval, funding will be issued within 15 working days.  Click on the following link to apply: Medical Transport Compensation Application.
